calNgary
I was quite shocked when we first came at how many more accidents there are if its raining or wet, you can tell the poms are used to driving in the rain unlike Aussies, lol Cal x
caz832
Do NOT turn left or right at a red light!!! some roads will let you cross the flow of traffic, but in my experience they are rare!!
robfromdublin
I think everything has been mentioned but to summarise the main differences in laws are: * if you are turning left on green, beware pedestrians who also have a green light and have right of way [big difference to UK] * you can't park against the flow of traffic * you can turn left on red only if the sign is there * you can do a U-turn only if the sign is there * undertaking is legal * big trucks can use the inside lane Other than that it's just behavioural/cultural differences
Tina2
If the road is dual carrage that is 2 lanes each side of the centre, do NOT sit in the right hand lane it is for overtaking ONLY, stay in the inside lane. Book motels ahead of arrival, dont get tired and then start looking for a place to stay the night, better motels can get booked out. Use Trip Advisor to find motels along the way. https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Hotels-g255071-Rockhampton_Queensland-Hotels.html
