My wife gave her IELTS test when we applied for 489 visa two years ago and was wondering if she has to retake it for the 887 visa. MaggieMay24 Posted February 22, 2017 Share Posted February 22, 2017 There's no single answer regarding IELTS validity since it depends on the visa and some other factors. For example DIBP accepts IELTS for up to 3 years for most visas, and only 1 year for proving Functional English. I wouldn't have thought you would need to repeat IELTS again after passing first time round. That just does not make any sense to me.
