On behalf of the admin and moderators of the forum we would like to thank you for your patience during the forum upgrade.  We understand that members don't like change, but unfortunately we had to move with the times. There are lots of exciting changes and features to be made in the coming weeks, however, our priority was to get you all back online as quickly as possible. There is a thread in Forum Q & A (accessible via the link below) if there are any urgent issues please post them in there then we can monitor one thread instead of missing posts. Hi and welcome to the forum.

The first step would be to see if either of you qulaify for a visa. Does your hubby have all the paperowrk to back up his qualification as this would be needed for a skills assesment?

I think its much of a muchness for this trade TBH. I would start to apply for the visa as the PR can take months and months, then when you have your head around all the paperwork and your playing the waiting game have a look at different States, housing costs, weather etc. Also keep an eye on job sites like seek and careerone but remember lots of smaller companys advertise locally as its cheaper so local paper on line and even Gumtree will give you an idea whats about out here.
