18 year old dependant child 189/190 visa

Recommended Posts

Happy new year everyone

we are hoping to submit a EOI in march (about to send off aphra and anmac)

the question I have is, will our eldest daughter (19 in may) be allowed on our visa either 190 or 189. Still undecided.

she is a 3rd year apprentice and lives at home with us. She will finish her 3rd year in approx July 2017

any help would be great

Hi Gerty

Dependency of full-time students is allowed up to age 23 now in most cases. Apprentices are normally paid a wage so this might be a grey area, worth getting professional advice about it.

Cheers,

I posted this on the main forum, before I read your post:

Froom what you have posted, there there is a fairly straightforward workaround available.

May I suggest that you consult a registered migration agent for advice about strategy?
