nicolo
My friend's husband is the primary 187 visa holder and he is now eligible to apply for citizenship but his wife who holds a 187 dependent visa who is not yet eligible until next year due to the residency requirement. What happens to the wife's dependent 187 visa when the primary 187 visa holder becomes a citizen? Since the primary 187 visa will cease, will the wife's dependent isa also cease? What will then be the status of the wife in Australia?
Ahmad Shady
nothing happens ... 187 is not "dependent" once granted and landed in the country, except in very limited visa cancellation circumstances (getting citizenship is not one of them)

Good to know it won't affect the wife's visa
