bobby122
I got to know these girls last summer. Strahan is a lovely place to visit for a few days but I live here and good lord is it boring.
ali
We're planning on only a short 5-6 day visit and hiring a car - is it best to move around accommodation wise or is there a place to base ourselves that's best?
Skani
There's no one place to base yourself if you want to cover several regions. Hobart could be a base for the south - its own tourist destinations, the Huon Valley, possibly Bruny Island, Coal River Valley/Richmond vineyards, lower Derwent Valley - National Park...and Port Arthur. But to see anything up north you'd need to have accommodation in the Launceston and northwest coast (Devonport/Burnie) areas.
Concept
Wow! What an amazing road trip. I was only in Tasmania for 2 week, and could easily have stayed longer. I love their itinerary. The only thing I would add is bushwalking through the national park on the South West of Tas (bucket list item right there)
