Help with Temporary Sponsored Visa

Recommended Posts

Hi,

New to the forum & my 1st post.

We're just (hopefully) starting the process to emigrate and have been advised that we only have the required points to qualify for a temporary sponsored visa and that we would be able to apply for permanent residency after 2 years.

Does anybody know if it would be a routine process to obtain permanent residency or is this a difficult process?

Thanks for any advice!

Hiya and welcome to PIO, it will soon rule your life :goofy:. We are moving to TAS on a 475 visa. We had to get sponsorship from TAS (easy peasy) before applying and the visa application took 6 months ( altho' should really have been 4). Once we are there, main applicant (my o/h) has to work for at least 12 months and we have to settle, ie rent or buy a home, register the kids in school etc and show evidence of this after 2 years. Meds also need to be done again in OZ, but it all seems pretty straight forward. The state that is sponsoring you just want to know that you are not using them as a stepping stone to get somewhere else in OZ. Best of luck with whichever path you take.

thanks a lot for that.

do you know if you have to be working in the same occupation as that on your original visa application when you apply for permanent residency?
