Hello Everyone

I am currently living in NSW and we are moving to Brisbane, hubby work's all over the country and will be having a lot of new work in North Brisbane area ie North Lakes etc.

What's Burpengary like, Ningi, Sandstone Point like ????

Cheers for now

Hi, I'm just giving your post a bump, we have lots of members who live in and around Brisbane but because of the number of posts the forum gets it can be easy to miss them.

........out of the three I would choose sandstone point....

.........though longer commute to Brisbane it's a nice area....

..........good for family's and lots of new things going on.....

..........near bribie island for beaches.....

............which also has both primary and secondary schools.....not sure if you need those..?

.............burpengary has a new school.....not sure on its ratings TBH....

..............but is a large area.....with both good and bad parts...

...............Ningi just a very small place.....on the road from Caboolture to Bribie....

.................hope this helps......good luck....

............worth a visit ime....!

Burpengary has good local shops with 3 supermarkets and banks etc. I'm in narangba and its nice too. Schools are a bit better in narangba than Burpengary. Both are 10 min drive to north lakes for the big shops and there is a new cinema, ikea opening soon. There is nothing around ningi. Had friends who moved as it's quite remote. North lakes is nice but reminds me of Milton Keynes or Basingstoke. Everything looks the same and its hard to know where you are

The Redcliffe Peninsular is lovely - good lifestyle, sand beaches, marina - so good walks etc. and good value homes. If you look there the general 'rule of thumb' is to ideally look at property (East of Oxley St so you are beach side and/or Scarborough), there are some nice homes elsewhere, but you generally can't to wrong with East of Oxley. I don't know much about schools.

Traffic to Brisbane I personally think is a bit better than Northlakes etc. as we have more sneaky routes we can use from here when things clog up. Also they are opening a new train line here shortly and it's 'end of the line' so you should be guaranteed a seat.

Happy home and area hunting!

Thanks guys, really useful hint's there. Our kids are grown up and don't live at home, so we don't want somewhere that is full of little kids running around or noisy teenager's for that matter,( been there done that ) a nice relaxed lifestyle is what we are looking for, close to the beach . I am in my late fourties and hubby just gone 50. We do enjoy going out and socialising too. I haven't secured work as yet, my hubby work's all the country :)
