JockinTas
I live on the west coast and this morning it is super smoky everywhere. In dire need of rain (never thought I'd be wishing for that, I spent all winter moaning about the rain) Hope you get rain very soon Bobby. It rained here overnight but it's cleared up and the sun's out now.
Skani
Yes, very smokey in Hobart again today. The line full of washing I had planned will have to wait. Rain would be good also. I think some is forecast for you on the west coast later today?
JockinTas
It's 4:45 pm and the smoke has just reached here. Not too bad at the moment - just a bit of a whiff. It's really windy now. Just what the west coast doesn't need - wind and no rain
JockinTas
Not a pleasant day here today. A lot of smoke around and the wind is blowing. As well as the smoke drifting over from the west coast, there is a bushfire fairly close at Port Sorrell. Keeping all the window shut today. Left them open yesterday and there was a very fine layer of ash over everything this morning. Glad to read it has been controlled. Edited February 15, 2016 by Bound4Tassie
Skani
26 mm in my rain gauge this morning. :wubclub: It was glorious listening to it on the roof last night. I'm not sure if the bad fire areas received much though. The AirRater app I have on my phone shows the air up your way to be much clearer, JockinTas. JockinTas
Yes it is thanks Skani and hope it stays that way. We had showers last night and today is sunny with high, fluffy white clouds but only 19C. Still not wearing a cardi yet though :cute:

JockinTas
Beaut day here ...................... 22C and sunny. Perfect weather for the Devonport Triathlon. Down our end of town, I've been watching the cyclists and runners. Earlier on, I went to watch them doing their swimming bit at the beach. JockinTas
It rained all night and it's still raining - not heavily though. Better get the umbrella out and take the dog for a walk now.
Skani
Lucky you! Overcast here, forecasting some rain, but not much unfortunately. Disgustingly warm here last night...we're not used to it. Looking forward to a cool, rainy change.
JockinTas
We had drizzle and rain for 36 hours. It's overcast now and supposed to clear up later today. Did you get any @Skani ?
Skani
7 mm overnight...and a few showers at the moment...but too windy to soak in, methinks!
JockinTas
Glorious day here in Devonport. Not a cloud in the sky and 22C. Getting a lot cooler at night now too. Roll on autumn.
Skani
Roll on autumn. A beautiful season here - maybe my favourite. I've noticed the trees here just starting to turn colour - 3-4 weeks earlier than normal. I assume because it's been so dry...or the earlier spring? Maybe they're just exhausted. :cute:
Parley
Is the fire out yet ?
Skani
Many still burning - last I heard 20 or 30 - but none at alert level. All in very difficult terrain impossible to access on foot and/or smouldering in peat and button grass country. Have had some rain which has helped. Probably needs another few inches before they are extinguished completely.

Tried it in Sydney but too mild where we were and the daffodils and hyacinths just never came to anything. Will be fine here as everyone's garden looks lovely in the springtime. Skani
Oh yes...bulbs do wonderfully well here. They are also one of the few groups of plants which wallabies and possums don't eat in my garden. Although my crocus mysteriously disappeared last spring. :err:
