Does visa get activated when you enter the country?

Hi there we got our visa granted at the end of April ,we re going to be travelling in October ,does the visa automatically activate when you enter Oz ?o think before they used to give you visa stickers for your passport? Thanks in advance

Yes it does. The stickers are not and never were anything to do with activating the visa.

 

Personally, I would still get the visa labels, the electronic system is far from infallible and having stickers helped us out a few times over the course of four years.

Visa stickers are not mandatory, will cost you a fortune 80 bucks+ per person though we've also the stickers attached in our passports but in early 2012 it was still available as a fee-free service from 'DIAC'
