Seeing all this approvals is exciting. Congratulations people who have moved on to the next stage. 😁

I see the wait is daunting but worth it. 👍

I was expecting a longer wait, 7 months from application to approval is not what i expected. Now the wait for ceremony, my council unfortunately only runs 4 ceremonies a year.

Jan, May, Aug and October. Lets see if i get to be included in AUg or October

Hi, Any idea how to change the date of citizenship test date? I have tried to do it online but I dont see any slots in coming months. I see the latest available is in Nov'19.

Application Date: 20th Nov'18

Test Invite: Has come on 6th June . (Test is on 15th Oct)

Place: Melbourne CBD

Let me know if any other alternatives are present to prepone the test date?

I think they only become available if other people have themselves changed their appointment, it is therefore pot luck when you go in and try and change it.
Keep trying!

Just check everyday sometimes twice a day slots come up randomly (when someone drops their slot).

I got invite early May for August. Moved that 4 times till I got a slot in Late May and did the  test. (

just kept checking any chance I got)

I believe a child born in Australia gets citizenship when they are 18.

A child born in Australia is automatically an Australian, from knowledge that I have.

A child born in Australia with one parent PR and or a citizen acquires citizenahip. Yes. If you're on any other visa. No.

  7. Date of ceremony                                                Still waiting

Husband - Portuguese

  1. Date applied                                                          21/5/18
  2. City/Council area                                                 Frankston, Victoria

So frustrating to still be waiting 9 weeks after my test when my husband got approved same day. We are really hoping for the September ceremony date for our council, as the location has a special meaning for us. Fingers crossed I get approved soon!

Hi all ,

i am new here . Plz help

citizenship applied 14/2/18

16th month today .

area : qld

council: mortan bay council

applied a joint application with my 2 kids 11 and 12 years old . Wife is not eligible for citizenship yet .

status till today on immi account : received application

no test yet or nothing required from DIBP .

its been 16 months today . Really worried whats happing .

most of my friends who put application in jan feb march 2018 have received approval and test dates .

Is there is reason for delay that i put application with my kids , if i applied without kids ( by my self only ) , is that proceed faster ????

second question :

what is the mean of this on home affairs website ??

75% applications processing in 14 months

and 90% application processing time is 19 months . ??

what is  that exactly mean .

Your comments will be much thanksful

garry ..

Pleased to say we've got all of our application bits together ready to submit. Friday evening of this week we will be officially joining the queue!

It'll be a long wait i know, but after our immigration journey so far we'll be raising a toast to having the app submitted nonetheless 🥂

That should be straight forward to be assessed.

Don't understand what logical behind Department to assess cases.

It really does mean what it says, it is average processing times for applications. If an application took longer than 19 months, it is counted as one of the remaining 10%.
