does anyone have any information on this?

Most states and terrtories are cuirrently nominating electricians. Any registered migration agent should be able to advise you further.

I have (supervised licence / training permitt as well for my 176 visa ) may i ask what you are asking, as if you have a supervised licence you must have been issued a visa of some kind or was the OH the main applicant.

hey mate.

yeah im only just going into my second year holiday visa, i just recently done the vettasses thing, with future skills to get an electrical license so could try getting a decent job (saves being a labourer on site sweeping) and hopefully get sponsership of some kind.

i could go for the skilled visa, but honestly dont think id pass the english test, my spelling is atrocious, and im scottish haha.

The only difference between state sponsored and independent (i.e. no sponsorship) visas is that you get 5 or 10 points for the state sponsorship. If you can possibly get the 60 points required for an independent 189 visa, that's the one you should go for and forget about state sponsorship, at least until you're certain you can't get to 60 points without it. Also, Queensland is only willing to sponsor electricians if they have experience in heavy industrial and rail signalling.

You should have a try at an English test and see how you go - you might be surprised. You'll probably find PTE Academic better than IELTS.
