seanm87
I've heard rumours the spouse visa is going up in cost to 6800 as of Jan 1st does anyone know if there is any truth in this?
Ozmaniac
Offshore 309/100 Partner visas and Prospective Marriage visas are rising from $3085 to $4630. Onshore 820/801 Partner visas are rising from $4575 to $6865. Guest guest30085
How can they justify that price hike particularly for onshore applications? Then again they don't have to .....
Ozmaniac
How can they justify that price hike particularly for onshore applications? Then again they don't have to ..... As you say, they don't have to. At least if you can find the money for the visa and minor things like medicals and PCCs, that's it - the sponsorship requirements are very easy to meet after that. The requirements for sponsoring a spouse to move to the UK are much more onerous e.g. the sponsoring partner must earn at least £18,600 or have over £62,500 in savings (or a combination of savings and income) and more is required if there are any dependents. engaus
How can they justify that price hike particularly for onshore applications? Then again they don't have to ..... I figure they are trying to discourage people from applying onshore...e.g coming over on a tourist visa with the intention to apply for a partner visa onshore all along... As Ozmaniac says, better than having the UK spouse visa requirements.
