Guest alecsonya
Hi, I'm an RGN planning to live in Australia with my fiancee. What Visa do we need and how do we start to ball rolling? Any tips would be welcome. :?
Alan Collett
I'd start by looking at the Skilled Independent visa (subclass number 136). Do you satisfy the basic requirements for skilled migration, and importantly can you attain at least 120 points? Have a look here and check your points position and whether you also satisfy all the basic requirements of a skilled migration application: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/136/eligibility-applicant.htm If you do, the first step will be to obtain a skills assessment classification, which in your case will be via an application to the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council: http://www.anmc.org.au/international/assessment/index.php An alternative to a skilled application is to look at an employer sponsored visa strategy, though where you have a 136 visa available I'd usually be inclined to go for that pathway rather than one of the employer sponsored options. Hope this helps.
