Another in the series "No beaches in Brisbane"

This is the beach near Shorncliffe pier. Had a swim in it the other day (more like a bath, water was so warm) - should have done today. Super clear water and views.

As you can see in the second pic, clear view to Glass House Mountains 60k away

That's a fair way out of Brisbane mind you. Looks like a nice place to live if the commute to Bris is easy.

Had a drive out to Bankfoot house yesterday with Mt Tibrogargan behind it in the Glasshouse Mountains yesterday. The first 2 photos are of a mock-up of the original homestead which was built in 1868, and used as a staging post for Cobb & Company, then demolished and rebuilt in 1930. Fascinating history of a family from Scotland, we forget sometimes how life was in the 1800’s.

Great pictures!  I remember someone telling me that the glass house mountains are extinct volcanoes and all that is left is the inner core after millions of years of corrosion.

Quote.  a volcanic plug of hard alkali rhyolite that squeezed up into the vents of an ancient volcano 27 million years ago

They were called the Glasshouse mountains by Cook because they reminded him of the glass houses from the glass making foundries in Yorkshire. They really stand out.

If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place...

If you get a chance, take it, If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy they just said it would be worth it...
