Drinking rum before 11am does not make you an alcoholic, it makes you pirate..

^^^^ Snow is pretty to look at (especially in pics) but believe me PB, having worked out in it for a few years - I hate the bloody stuff now. Worked for vets in the Lake District and Switzerland - funny how some cows, sheep and horses like to calf/lamb/foal when the weather takes a turn for the worse and sometimes in the middle of the night.

I've been pruning the flower heads on my grevillias and callistemon as soon as they peaked to prevent them seeding. This has resulted in them continuing to produce flower right into the middle of winter as it is now, in fact, they're more prolific than in spring or summer. As nothing else is flowering in my area, I'm being blessed with birds that seem oblivious to me in their quest for pollen (that's the yellow on their beak and face). I got within 3 metres of these miners an hour ago

Yesterday at the top of Long Walk. We entered the great park at Bishopsgate entrance, walked through the woods off the beaten track to the Copper Horse and took this from there looking down the Long Walk to Windsor Castle.

One of our favourite haunts.....we often walk to the copper horse at the weekends.....we have a fantastic 6 mile walk which covers the long walk and the great park....lucky enough to have the great park only yards from our door step.

We must be neighbours near enough!

We are central Windsor - about 10 minutes from the castle

Then yep, we are pretty much neighbours - we are on Alma Road. We go to the Prince Albert for sunday lunch sometimes.

We have had an average of about 2 days of snow a year since being back, it's tough lol

Loving life in Gods Country. Woohoo, look at me.

Yes, in YOUR area of the UK - weather in the UK varies so much for such a relatively small place. It could be mid 20'sC in London and 14C in Edinburgh. That's what it was like when I was back one summer.

Most areas of England seem to get very little snow these days which is a shame as I love it. Scotland is a different story of course lol

That's what I'm getting at. The distance between Edinburgh and London is about 400 miles but the weather can be so very different on the same day. Just like Australia - which is much larger - the weather varies enormously on the same day. People are basking in the heat up in Darwin and we in Tassie are wrapped up in winter woolies - snow on the mountains.

Wait until Tuesday Jock, you'll be needing your winter woolies then

looks like I might be babysitting in January. This is my granddaughter Jade's new baby at just 3 months old yesterday. She's been granted an internship at a Wildlife sanctuary in Minnesota in Jan next year. Australia Zoo want her to go to broaden her knowledge, although she will have to pay her own flight but food and accommodation free
