sponsorship for a governess

Hi

I've been a governess in rural oz for 5 months now and am wondering if anyone has heard of the govie being sponsored to stay here. Ive looked at the 457 temp work visa and the 187 regional sponsored visa but as my job title is In Home Care Educator, I don't know what criteria i fit into. I'm a qualified teacher in the UK but my qual is not recognised in oz as its for college students. Also, I am in an isolated place and really want to stay out here, the work is needed as people just aren't willing to travel out here.

Any help or advice would be most appriciated.

thanks

You need to check the SOL and CSOL and see if your occupation is on the list.

Hi, I'm just wondering if you had any luck with this? I'm in the exact same situation at the moment and trying to work out if a sponsorship is possible for a govie on a station

This thread is a few years old, and things have changed a lot, but you still need to have a skill on the appropritae list, and if you thinking 457 you need to be going for a job that cannot be filled by someone already in oz.

Willing to be proved wrong but I can't imagine that being a governess on a station would qualify.
