189 visa lodged in july 2014

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

Thought I would start a new feed for anyone that has lodged their application in July 2014 .

My boyfriend and I have lodged the 189 visa to live in Brisbane Australia.

We showed our EOI on the 20/06/2014 - We had our Positive skills assessment 26/06/2014 - had our Invitation to apply on the 28/07/2014 which was then lodged on the 29/07/2014

We have our medicals booked for the 16th of this month and I sent off the paper documents for our PCC'S yesterday even though we have not had to go ahead from our case officer, very keen to get everything done soon as we are hoping to move to Australia late October.

Immi site and our migration agent have said the current processing time is 3 months.

Is it likely that we will have our visas by then? Anyone else in the same situation or needs advise or has any to share :)

Hi Keighley,

I got my invitation on the 14th and started the process on the 15th itself. I have submitted all the necessary documents including the medical but a case officer has not yet been assigned. Keeping my fingers crossed for it to happen soon as I am looking to move in November.

Hi Keighley,

Thanks for starting this thread, I was thinking of doing the same. Have been tracking the June 2014 lodge gang and it seems like the visa's are generally taking around 3 months to be granted. I've not been allocated a CO yet....hoping I might get a direct grant, fingers crossed. Plan to move to Brisbane too, work allowing. Very exciting, spent a year on Oz on working holiday visa, a long time ago now, but love the climate, wildlife and people. Fingers crossed.

Anyone out there that lodged in July and has a CO allocated already?

Hi Nicky

biggest welcome :)

I am pretty much in the same position as you, just waiting to be allocated a CO and the visa grant

We have used a migration agent who has been a massive help and has said that we could have our visas mid october so i am hoping we will just get a direct visa grant like yourself as all paperwork etc has been submitted, even the form 80

Wer abouts in brisbane are you lookin at moving too? you planning on going this year?

Same here we spent a year travelling in 2010 and loved it and we have not stopped thinking about ause so thats why we made the decision to move :)

hopefully it wont be long until we both hear regarding our visas

Not sure exactly where in Brisbane, maybe one of the southern districts. When I was in Australia before I visited Brisbane but only for a couple of days. Most of my time was spent living in Sydney, but having lived in London for so long I'm thinking somewhere a bit smaller and near to diving, forests and so on would be good. Bit of a lifestyle change.

Hoping to go later this year once my visa is approved I'll rent out my flat and head over.

It's nerve wracking waiting, keep thinking I may have filled something in wrong. I haven't completed the form 80 but a couple of people told me not to unless requested.

Keep in touch and let m know if you get a CO, I'll do the same. Do you know which district you want to live in?

Hi Nicky

I love the lifestyle in brisbane and we have family and friends there so it has always been where we wanted to move to :)

I don't think you have to fill in the form 80 until you are requested to do so but our migration agent sent me the docs via email so I filled the form in and sent it back to her just in case it was requested

But never does any harm filling forms in so they are ready just incase they ask :)

Going by what our migration agent has said I think we should and hopefully will get a direct grant and she has said mid october depending on the amount of applicants etc

So fingers crossed

Have you got worked lined up already?

We are looking at west end, mt gravatt, coorparoo but thats just an idea at the mo. Would love to live next to the beach but would depend on where the work is

have a query due to which I am confused and have not submitted my visa application yet for which I need clarity.

I have worked in three different job positions during my career which are all related to my nominated occupation ‘ Marketing Specialist’ (225113). Details are:

Position1:

Job Title: Territory Executive

Occupation: Marketing Specialist

Company Name: Pakistan Tobacco Company

Start date: 17/02/2014

End Date: To date (mentioned 20/08/2014 while filling form)

Position 2:

Job Title: Business Executive

Occupation: Marketing Specialist

Company Name: Premier Distributors

Start Date: 27/03/2012

End Date 10/02/2014

Position 3:

Job Title: Management Trainee

Occupation: Marketing Specialist

Company Name: Premier Distributors

Start Date 26/12/2011

End Date 26/3/2012

However in my Skills assessment from Vet assess only "Position 2" is assessed positively from 05/2012 10/2013 – at the time I sent my application for assessment

Position 1 is not mentioned because I joined that job after assessment and position 3 is not there because of unavailability of reference letters at that time. My all positions areconsistent with a career advancement pathway and I do have all the necessary reference letters and evidences which shows that all of my employment roles are relevant to my nominated position. That is why I mentioned "YES" on the below question:

Is this employment related to the nominated occupation: “Yes”

I am not claiming any point for any of my work experience as my total experience is less than 3 years and my points in EOI and points claimed in Visa application are same so everything in EOI and Visa form is consistent.

Since my current EOI is mentioned correctly, I would like to know whether I can proceed with the visa application with current EOI or I need to fill new EOI again and new state nomination and mention the employment which is only assessed by Assessment Authority. Visa form is confusing me and I am stopped and did not paid my fees yes although every thing is ready. if any body can guide me it will be highly appreciated

Hello all

we are about to do an EoI - for nursing

We have a solid 60 points based on qualifications, IELTS, & age. My wife is the applicant, and has loads of experinec, but we think we kight just miss out on getting points for experinec as she has been part time, and I gather time off on maternity leave isn't counted

We just wanted to know if:

60 points is good enough to be invited to apply?

and whether it's best to avoud risking adding points for experince if it might fall ust shy of the 20 hours per week limit.

any info much appeciated!

Thanks

Matthew & Nicola

If you look at the previous invitation rounds you will see that the vast majority of people get their invitations on 60 points:

http://www.immi.gov.au/Work/Pages/SkillSelect/results/28-july-2014.aspx

Whatever you do, do not over claim points. If you have a solid 60, you're probably best sticking with it.

So you mean in your EOI, without the job experience, you still managed to get 60 points and above?

yes i do have 60 points, i got State sponship already as my points are 30 for age, 15 for education, 10 for IELTS and 5 for SS. I am not claiming any points, and I can't claim as my expereince is less than 3 years. I am not submitting visa yet becasue i m confused that visa officer only consider expereince which is valid on assessment only or they consider all experience ?

I think they only consider experience which is valid on assessment (which is relevant to the SOL) but since you are not claiming points for experience, what is your concern?
