Gemmck
We’re a family of three – me (nurse, 43), hubby (architect, 45) and our little boy (4yrs) who moved from Edinburgh to Brisbane in early May 2014 and after nine weeks, we are feeling more settled and enjoying our new life. Looking now to begin to form new friendships, although know this will take time. We are based in the Morningside/Norman Park area of Brisbane, so if anyone fancies meeting up then let us know. I've also posted on the 'Socialising' thread, but thought might be better to post on the Queensland thread??

lechatnoir
Hi - Me (36 yr old environmental engineer), my wife (3? year old mum) and our two kids nearly 6 and 3 live in Morningside. I'm from the UK and my wife lived over there for more than 6 years. How did you go meeting people? Are you still in the area - what school is your son going to? Gemmck
We met up with a couple of families which has been great. Yes, we're still in Morningside. Our little boy is due to start Prep in January and will be going to Norman Park. What about you - how long have you been here? Is your 6 yr old going to Morningside SS? lechatnoir
We've been in Brisbane for 2.5 years now, we rented in Bulimba for 6 months before buying a place in Morningside. Our daughter is in her prep year at St Peters and Pauls in Bulimba. We are not religious but we didn't like Morningside SS as much.

babybronco
Hi. We emigrated in May this year. We're in Maryborough (near Hervey Bay / Fraser Island), so about 3 hours north of Brissy, but I'm guessing there's not many other poms around here! I'm aged 34 and work as a Speech Pathologist, my husband is 36, was a scientist in the UK but now looking for different work, he currently looks after our 2-year-old daughter. I'm from Bristol originally, hubby is from North Yorkshire (Scarborough). We've been living in Cardiff for past 10 years. Brissy is a bit of a way for us to travel for get togethers, but we do have an Aussie friend down there so do travel down quite often. Keen to get in touch with other Poms, so will be nice to chat to people over the internet at least, if not make the occasional get together! Cheers.
