twinkletoes35 Posted June 28, 2014 Share Posted June 28, 2014 Hello Mogsandrover Just thought I would pop on with some friendly advice, with a hope that it may help you, totally from my prospective (in case anyone wishes to disagree) I came over sponsored by the Mater in Townsville in 2011, I had several other job offers in Sydney and Melbourne but no offer of relocation assistance, you will need to look rurally for those kind of opportunities s the big cities do not need to offer them to gain overseas staff We moved down to the gold coast last year at out own cost, QH have stopped offering relocation help, in fact from the 1st july 2014 each health care trust will operate independently for recruitment For some time SA have only been offering temp/ fixed term contracts, I had an ICU interview with an SA hospital last year and the first ten minutes was taken up with how they do not provide relocation allowance! However there are still jobs to be had, in most areas just depends what working conditions will suit you, the last I heard about the brisi mater was that they were not internationally recruiting but I could be wrong, it is true that not all new grad are getting employment, we have a new grad who travelled from Broome to take a job in the gold coast Good luck with your jobs search…in QLD search on smart jobs, or apply direct is quite a good site… Logan Hospital is having an extension and looking for an additional 150 staff and the Princess Alexandra have had a run of nurse vacancies Hope this helps TT x Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am waiting for AHPRA's decision since February. I am a Diploma nurse - and I am very worried because there seems to be some people being refused because they do not have a Degree. Toolbox Posted June 28, 2014 Share Posted June 28, 2014 Got a response from a private hospital "At the moment, St Andrews Hospital will sponsor UK nurses if they have extensive experience in the position advertised. The normal routine would be to send your full CV, cover letter with two clinical references to the Director of Nursing, " GRRREAT! My wife works at the St Andrews hospital Adelaide. She tells me they are very keen at taking on British nurses, if that's any use. Let us know if you need any info, we may be able to help. Hi Toolbox I am moving over next year with the family I will have about 6 months experience, are you aware if St Andrews take on with that amount of experience? We already have permanent residency. The only downside with taking 457 from a private hospital is that if you really dont enjoy it, theres not much space for moving departments.
