sivareddy 10 Posted June 20, 2014 Hi guys, I have lodged 489 visa for ACT state on 16th June. My ACS skill assessment is expired. Before applying EOI, I enquired with ACS whether I have to apply for a new skill assessment or should I submit my expired one. ACS guys replied that I can apply to EOI with even expired assessment report. But apparently, I have got an email from the SkillSelect that from 1st July all EOI should accompany with a valid skill assessment report. I am confused now. Usually how long the 489 visa processing time is? I will apply for a NEW skill assessment now. When I get my report, should I have to apply a new EOI or just update the report details in the existing EOI (if I haven't been invited). What do u guys suggest? any ideas please? dewi 10 Posted June 21, 2014 If you havne't been invited, you just update your EOI. I don't think we are allowed to have multiple EOI.. NT SS 489 visa lodged: 10 January | PCC & Document uploaded upfront | Medical done 28 Jan | CO request further doc 7 mar ; docs uploaded and medical uploaded 28 march
MaggieMay24 1,518 Posted June 21, 2014 If you've already lodged your visa, I think it would be fine as new regulations regarding expiry of skills assessments only takes effect from July 1st. If you haven't been invited yet, then it needs to be valid as of the date you're invited for a 489 visa. Here's a thread with the new regulation information: http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/214066-skill-assessments-will-valid-only-3-years-starting-july-2014-a.html

sivareddy 10 Posted June 24, 2014 Guys, although, I am still wondering how long would the invitation might take for 489 visa subclass? as I already have a positive skill assessment report from ACS, I am assuming re-apply with the same skills would be quicker than previous time. any idea on the processing times? its very confusing on the skills select page about the invitation rounds? what's this Visa date of effect? every fortnight, they only issue 10 invitations for 489 sub class? is it for entire Australia or state wise?
