samozsoon 27 Posted March 27, 2008 My son arrived from the UK on monday and thought he could watch the UK tv on his laptop but he cant. When he tries to log on to BBCi this is the message he gets : Can I use BBC iPlayer outside the UK? Rights agreements mean that BBC iPlayer television programmes are only available to users to download or stream (Click to Play) in the UK. However, BBC Worldwide is working on an international version, which we will make available as soon as possible. Radio programmes are available outside the UK in addition to podcasts at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/directory/. Many BBC News programmes are available for viewers outside the UK at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/video_and_audio/default.stm, BBC Sport highlights are available at http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport and BBC Radio stations are available at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/ He's now looking at ITV as he never knew you could get it on-line. I'll let you know soon. Sam x

Guest asylon Posted March 27, 2008 You can download UK TV shows from the net.
Guest Django Posted March 27, 2008 You can download a false ip address so you can 'fool' the BBC and ITV into thinking you are in UK. Have a google and you will have a choice of loads of different programmes to download. Pete
Guest asylon Posted March 27, 2008 Is this free Pete?
Guest Django Posted March 27, 2008 Is this free Pete? Depends on which download you choose. I haven't done it myself but know people that have. I looked at one that charged a few dollars a month. Even if you took this option up it would be cheaper that foxtel and you could watch all your fav programmes later on in the day they are shown in the uk. Its deffo something we will do when we get over there. Tracey won't survive without her soaps. :biglaugh: Pete
Guest asylon Posted March 27, 2008 Thanks, will look into that, having too many problems keeping my ratios "legal" with the download sites A x

Guest ronniechampers Posted February 26, 2011 Hi Does anyone know whilst in Australia are you able to install on your pc and log on to BBC I player and ITV.com to watch recorded uk tv. thanks Rich Download "Expat Shield "have used this in a few places around the world and it normally works ok. It fools bbc & itv in thinking that you are in the uk. Having said that in the last few days here in Oz it has been a bit unreliable. Worked fine last week. NigelWaring 472 Posted October 28, 2011 About two years ago on either this site or the other one someone gave detailed instructions on how to do it and what free utilities you needed to download. Several people seemed to follow it with great success. The best procedure seemed to be to download the programs before playing them back, this overcame buffering problems. Get searching the info is probably still available. Nigel's Travel Blog General Blog I live in Australia for family reasons. My family is in UK.
Guest danbrown69 Posted February 1, 2012 BBC iPlayer have launched a service for Australia but only really covers BBC stuff. If you want to watch live UK TV channels you need something called a VPN. I was in Perth last month and was using Anglo VPN (http://www.anglovpn.com) did the trick, ITV, BBC, Dave etc. you do need half desant broadband if you stick it on HD mode though. Got sick of the local telly when Im over lol
Guest danbrown69 Posted February 1, 2012 Yeh defo got sick of Aussie TV, not the greatest. Get a VPN connection and setup tvcatchup on your laptop. I was using http://www.huluincanada.com for a few quid a month
