Britain's favourite dish, fish and chips, faces a sharp rise in price as the recent storms cause the wholesale price of fish to go up by more than 40 per cent.

Fishing vessels across the UK's coasts have been unable to set sail because of the stormy weather, stopping supply and pushing up fish prices.

Because of this, the price of a portion of fish and chips has gone up 10 per cent, around 35 pence per portion.

No they don't

i thought curry was officially the favourite British dish now anyway.

the curry plantations around Britain are in ruins ......no curry leaves , no curry ..........they will end up putting anything in the curry ......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0n88tZQc4Q

Easy!Just refuse to buy it!On the odd occasion we do eat fish,I usually buy mine from the supermarket,£2 for 4 portions, and buy a bag of oven chips for £1!As there is only two of us,this gives us 2 meals!

And it's probably a lot healthier. Might be coz I've just eat my tea and I'm full, but I think that pic of fish and chips looks horrible.

The fishing is shlt. I can't see me fishing for kingies or spear fishing here, I even miss my little tinny that I used to go out into the George's river on and fish for flatties.
The fish and chips are a rip off and the fishing is ****, you sound like a whinging Aussie! :daydreaming:
