Karina, I asked CO why I hadnt heard anything since submitting all docs on 24 Feb and CO sent an email stating that they are reaching the visa allocation quota for this year so they are now queing applications so there is a delay in finalising the visas. So if visa quota is reached then they will stop granting until the new year on 1 July

What's this notice to enter the country. Second time I'm reading about it. Care to explain for me please

When you get the visa it will have a date to validate it by which is norm 12 months from meds. You can go and come back and then will have 5 years I think to make the move permenant. X

And it's happened...... March gang getting their grants. Still nothing for us! Maybe we are not meant to go. :(

March gang???? Mine was 24 Feb all docs received. So if March are being granted that puts me in the "more waiting" category

Kellie, I think he lodged in Feb, not March, from what I can see. Stay positive. At least there are grants coming through, however blinking slow they are. x

Yup, checked...24/2 lodged.

Kellie, I am the only one I know who has got a grant so quick. 5 weeks is like  !!

Is yours a 189? And which occupation.. May be it makes a difference with the new occupation ceilings etc.

Hi mates,

I am holding a 475 visa (regional sponsored visa) at this moment and will apply for my 887 visa (PR)on august 2014.

My skill assessment was in Telecommunications network engineer(263312). However, I am working in Networking and Security for more than a year in australia.

In EOI, I claimed for 5 more points for "years of relevant experience in Australia" which made my total points to 60. yesterday i got invitation to apply for 189 visa.

But I am a bit concerned that immigration department may not consider my Australian experience as closely relevant hence I may not get this extra 5 points.

Wondering if anyone could give me any suggestion how should I go ahead.

majbauddin, I guess it is better to ask migration agent about your case. But if you are not sure that you can get this 5 points, you can wait for 60 days, while your invitation to apply expires. Since DIBP may give you a visa refusal as well as ban for 3 years to apply for messleading and incorrect information. However, if your occupations are closely related, based on tasks performed (I'm not specialists in your occupations), and you have supporting docs to prove it - than apply for 189.

Personnaly I worked as an accountant 2 years, than external audit 2 years and now budgeting - but assessment authority considers these occupations as relevant.

That was very quick:-) I think it would be worse, if we saw no grants happening at all. I saw yours as a positive.:-)

Which state are you going to?

I got mine a couple wks before you and it took 4 weeks..think they are all getting done much quicker than they used to..unless extra checks or wotever r needed..they seem pretty efficient to me
