Get a credit card with a high limit, that will help if you cant meet the suggest target. Also have a few $ on you at the airport, from what I know, they just want to know how you are going to fund you holiday. Having credit cards helps the situation. If you do get asked that is. If you say worse case it takes a month to find work, you'll need say $30 a night for a dorm bed, $20 a day for food, less of you can cook and aren't fussy, $10 a day for transport/internet and sundries and $30 a month for a phone with a decent allowance to contact employers. Then say you earn worse case $500 a week you can work it out from there. It depends too how frugal you are and if you want to see the sites and drink booze add another $100 odd a week.
