Citizenship Timeline for Years 2013/2014

Hello All

Area: Moreland (Melbourne)

Application online: 4 Feb 2014

Test & interview: 25 Feb 2014

Approval: 25 Feb 2014

Ceremony: 1 May 2014

We were led to expect a long delay between approval and ceremony, but I think they're trying to catch up (more than 200 received certificates in this ceremony)

Good luck to everyone currently in the pipeline!

Steve

Hi maulajatt,

No, DIBP does not send any emails regarding citizenship approval or ceremony dates. They only send out official letters as far as I know.

The only time you receive an email in regards to your citizenship application is when they schedule you for a test (interview) and also there is an automatic acknowledgement email sent out when the application is received by the department.

Hope that helps.

From the information provided on this thread, I understand department sends letter of approval and ceremony dates to the applicants. Can anyone let me know if department send approval and ceremony details information in email as well?

Thanks jmartin8010,

I can see my application status changed to approved, but still waiting for the official letter.

I would imagine answers along the lines of:

I did not serve in the armed forces

As a student, I was exempt from military service

I served in the catering corps which did not engage in front line service

My unit was never deployed on active service

I have only one leg and therefore failed the army medical

There were no wars when I was in the army
