Quoll 6,351 Posted March 15, 2008 When you arrive, it would be most sensible to get yourself a short term let for a few weeks to give yourself time to find a place that you would be happy to live in. The university will probably have an accommodation office which may be able to give you some ideas even if they dont have accommodation to let themselves. As a dependent of someone on a student visa you are only entitled to work 20 hours a week. Generally unemployment is nationally at an all time low so you could be lucky - all depends on what you are prepared to do I suppose and what your area of skill is.
