Guest MelW Posted March 13, 2008 Well this is a bit of a strange thread, but here goes. When in the UK, I lost 6 stone (two stone Weight Watchers) pre the birth of two children, manged to keep that 2 stone of, after my second child, I then went on to loose a further 4 stone through Slimming World, since arriving in Oz in November I have manged to put 14 pounds on, nightmare, we recently moved to Redland Bay, and since life has started to settle down, I have not put any more on, and I don't intend to. Slimming World only runs in the UK, but I had an ace consultant who became a very good friend, so with my one stone to lose and more, my question is if there is any one out there in South East Brisbane struggling with weight or has done SW before and would like to meet etc, just drop me a line or PM if you would rather, I know I have struggled without the group support etc, if there was a few of us we could hold a 'mini class', how funny would that be! I have books and all the mags (yes sad I know I brought them over) and even the tools to work values out for food, as KJ is more the thing than Cals here in Oz. SW is worked on Carb and Protien, free food as SW call it, anyway let me now if any one interested, its also another way to meet people. Guest claire&fred Posted March 13, 2008 Goodluck to both of you with your weightloss. It is a hard thing to do. I have been going to WW on and off for ten years now. I lost 2st before I got married, then two kids came along and ten years later I am now at my heaviest. I know I need to lose weight but just cannot seem to bring myself to go to a slimming class. It is stupid really as I am so pi**ed off. My brain says lose weight, my tum says no. Does not help that OH says he loves me as I am. I kind of hoped that all the stress of this Visa business would help me lose but it is going on instead. Jo, keep us posted on your weightloss, if you don't mind? Guest Mrs C Posted March 13, 2008 Hi Mel, I am not in Oz yet but I am headed over in September. I will keep an eye on this thread as I trained to teach Excercise To Music and would be happy to join a group and perhaps we could add a little bit of Aerobics to the sessions. If someone has a pool Aqua is a great form of keep fit and loads of fun. Keep us posted on this. April
Guest The Thomsons Posted March 13, 2008 Hi Mel and Mrs. C I am hoping to move to Brisbane in September and would love to join a slimming and exercise group, especially as I won't be able to cover up with big jumpers over there! Great way to socialise too.
Guest MelW Posted March 13, 2008 Good Luck Jo, keep me posted, I thought the weight would just keep dropping of me, eating lots of fresh fruit and the heat and all, but no typical comfort eater, like you said Jo, its so hard at the start, crisps were my best friend. Excersise class sounds great Mrs C, we will keep this thread going, see what interest we generate and you never now, we may have our own little slimming club going in a few months. Guest funiowcple Posted March 13, 2008 i lost 3 and a half stone with slimming world in 6 months last year, but have now put 1 stone back on, arrhhhhh, it is the stress of the moving. But i am moving to Brisbane in June and would love to lose this weight again and keep it off. i found if i didn't go to club then i didn't lose weight. So if you do get the club started I would love to be part of it. My consultant was excellent also. I spoke to them some time ago about the chances of starting a fanchise in Oz, but it's not set up for the Aussie shops. etc, but she said hopefully in time they will spread to the other side of the world. Guest arnots Posted December 26, 2009 Hi. I lost 1 stone on SW in the UK and have now put it all back on since coming to Australia in September. Was determined to go back to SW after Christmas but it is so hard on your own. I would love to join some fellow slimmers for even a mini class. I still have recipes from the magazines, the original book and a few other books. Let me know what you are doing I would love to join up with you. Petals 4,258 Posted December 26, 2009 I suggest you join CalorieKing.com.au - Australian Online Diet and weight loss club. Lose weight for good! its a free site and has a good forum of support and lots of things to help you on your way. There are people from every State on there and they have meet ups regularly. Really good following in QLD Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast. Lots of nice people in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth and then there are the north Coast South Coast of NSW people and Sydney. Many success stories I am not one of them though as I have not found the willpower pills yet keep looking though. kayterina 10 Posted August 2, 2014 I have just arrived from the UK. I love slimming world but one of the challenges seems to be oz doesn't have the same products in the supermarket. Does anyone know an equivalent to Muller light yoghurt?
