kaiser Posted October 2, 2013 Share Posted October 2, 2013 Hi all i have had asymptomatic microscopic hematuria (traces of red blood cells in urine) for 14 years. It was found by chance, I had a full range of tests and investigations at the time and nothing sinister was found. I had a few follow ups but then didnt have to keep going. Sometimes it's there sometimes it's not. My dad has had the same for years (he's 60 now) and my brother the same. Is the fact that I have this likely to prevent me from getting my visa? ali Posted October 2, 2013 Share Posted October 2, 2013 Hi, I have the same - I submitted letters from the consultant stating what investigations i'd had and that there was no explanation and it was unlikely to cause problems. I didn't have one of the letters, my GP photocopied it (charged me for copying) - shouldn't be a problem if you can send off the results of the investigations. I'm sure you're aware, but the amounts can be minuscule, i.e. if your gums bleed slightly when brushing your teeth and you swallow a tiny amount, that will be picked up by the test. He has exactly the same condition as you and once he had the report saying what it was and that there wasn't a kidney or prostate problem / anything serious he was accepted without any further nonsense. Mmm, in certain circumstances with certain accompanying conditions (heart disease, diabetes, hypertensions), from my understanding. But for visas with a health waiver provision, most people without accompanying health conditions are not going to be denied, from what I understand. If someone is such a tiny amount overweight that they can fix that before they're medical, they're unlikely to be obese enough to warrant failing the medical. I have seen countless people worry their weight might be a problem, I have not once seen anyone fail a medical because of being obese. Hi Rupert No, apart, from the investigations 14 years ago, there has been no need for any treatment or medication since as no actual medical condition has been identified. I have the letter from the urologist when the tests (including a couple under anaesthetic so pretty in depth) were done 14 years ago stating he found nothing. I saw another doctor before him who did a couple of general tests before he referred me to a urologist for further investigation as a further precaution but I don't have anything from him and he's now retired. As expected urine test had trace of blood but they waited half an hour, told me to drink 2 glasses of water and did it again - no trace!! So passed the urine test. Huge relief. Medical was graded A. I have applied for a spouse visa and my husband is a Australian PR holder,I completed my all documentation and PCC.i was asked for a medical from CO which i completed last week.As per the discussion with my doctor all reports i.e, Chest X ray,HIV and other related are normal.In my urine test 1 plus RBC was determined.I was asked to repeat the test and same result was arrived. Further,doctor asked me to urdergo three more tests i.e urine culture,urine microscopy and creatinine ,serum . Creatine ,serum results to be normal but in urine microscopy,the RBC is 2-4 and pus cell are 8-10.I am very worried if this may result with the visa rejection on medical ground. But how did my bro-in-law and sister get into Australia? They are morbidly obese so I assume they must have passed their medicals or their visas would have been refused.
