Shipping dog from Sydney to Darwin

Recommended Posts

Hi

Himyarites pooch is due to be released from the big house (Eastern Creek Quarantine) soon. So I need to get her shipped up to Darwin and wondered if anyone had done the same;

1) Did you do it yourself or hire a company to deal on your behalf?

2) if you hired a company who were they and were you happy with them

3) if you did it yourself, what was involved?

4) what were the costs?

Thanks in advance

Jo

Hi Jo

You have a couple of choices,

1) Get a quote with Dogtainers or Jetpets to ship them up for you, this can be door to door or door to airport or

2) Fly down to Sydney and accompany her back on a virgin flight

I used JetsPets (their customer service was totally useless, though, it took me less time to organise her international flight than to organise her one to the GC). Cost about $250.

Hi

I assume this is handling fees and then the flight is on top?

Hi Jo

No this is the flight. When we moved from Melbourne to Cairns, JetPets wanted $800 instead Rob flew up with him and it cost us $55 (flights have gone up, it use to be $55 for 20kg) Remember though someone has to accompany them.
