hi from Wat I understand is it all depends on the new requirements for occupations , n as the govr gets new approved list from the certified bodies like aus industry group etc, n wen it gets approved by aus labour market bodies n aus business they quickly approve the occupations which are in demand more than d others, n from govt point of view it's right n applicant point of view be its me it's not justified as at d end of the day all occupations in csol or occupation list are in demand why it takes too long where it used to take max 2 weeks , wats d difference most files have extra documents as agents n people had a view of rules being changed n more n more docs were attached in d files so as compared to before files have so many docs to justify the need, then y they taking so much time,

mlike asked earlier elections delay the process, I don't think but yes it wud if like some other countries, govr teachers n immi dept officials are appointed in election duties as they considered to be loyal n responsible people, but I have no clue abt it.

B

Ok so I have a question which if I'm honest I don't think anyone can give me a definite answer too, do the immi check work references?? As I have checked with previous employer who wrote the reference etc and they have not had any calls or emails etc? So I don't understand what they are actually Doing with my application unless its just sat there doing nothing!!

U r right no one can give u exact answer as its not cumpolsion for a c/o to cross check that info but having said that they can even ask u about ur previous employers favourite food or ur ex workplace bathroom tile colors too. But most of the cases they wont

They do check work references. You either did skills assessment. Or you prove that you worked in your occupation.

I had to provide references as I didn't want to do the lengthy skills assessment.

So yes they do check them in some cases.

Thanks for the replies! Can't think what's taking them so long in checking the info it's dragging!! So they checked with you're previous employers chubbs?? When do you fly over now you have you're visa :)

They did not call them but MA said they could if they want to. I'm going on the 18th of sept.

my wife and son will follow at later date. :)

Hi everyone I need some help ASAP! I'm being asked to provide health insurance cover evidence by tomorrow before a decision is made! I didn't do this as Medicare had an agreement with the uk, so I think I may have to buy this insurance so can anyone please please advise me on what care is best etc?? Thank you xx

I've got the basic Bupa. You only pay one month and when you get there you will activate your cover personally. They are really good where I've got it from. Don't forget Medicare will only coer you for basics!
