My fave so far is the Himalayan (not Tibetan) in New Farm....also tried Hum Tum in Everton Park for takeout and it was really good.....but not great... Even today, looking for an authentic "British style" indian is tricky. You will not find a Tindaloo or Phaal anywhere ! Another thing you will find over here is that when you order a madras or say vindaloo the staff will often ask you if you would like it "mild, medium or hot" - at that point I suggest you ask for "Indian Hot" or ask for a side of Chilii to make it to your liking. Need to book as it is VERY popular, but they do takeaway as well. Next door to them is a proper British fish and chip shop, with imported cod and haddock! Pricey, but worth it. Cal x Yes they do - I was looking at the menu when we were at Chumley Warners a few weeks ago. We had succulent beef curry, I haven't had beef curry since the CJD scare here in the UK and everything we had was gorgeous, plus ...... We were sat outside, yes ..... Outside eating a gorgeous Indian curry, washing it all down with cold Indian lager. It's the best Indian curry house experience I have ever had. YEAH BABY. Cal x It was a resteraunt where half the tables were inside and the other half were outside, the beef was falling apart when we ate it, it was so tender. jayw Posted October 14, 2013 Share Posted October 14, 2013 The spice avenue is fantastic we went a few weeks ago and could have been back in blighty , the curry was fantastic and I washed it down with 3 pints of carling , we'll worth a visit and the good thing is that unlike most brisbane resteraunts they don't stop serving early and put the tables away when you are still eating , they still serve till 10pm on a sat if they are busy enough the kitchen is open till everyone has finished eating .
