Sustain Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 SRT 8 6.4L Secound car for wife Might need it for towing horse float and/or boat Expect to be forking out extensive range of extras no matter what car so while ultimate price not relevant might need to evaluate the mix of base price to extras.
Guest The Pom Queen Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Paul (Furkew) on here has just bought one but he uses it for off roading I think but he should know, even Wendee may have an idea
bensdad Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I have the limited edition jet model called a trail hawk in USA with the 3.6 engine and that does about 11 litres to 100km the srt with the hemi is about the same as it has the new gearbox making it more economical. I'd wait if I was u a new model is due August this year which is a bit different. I wish I'd of waited now but I got the chance of a ltd edition model.
meaks Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 If you go to Frankston Mitsubishi's website they have a section where you can compare the fuel economy of any car, you select the brand, model and year and put it your mileage then you can compare several different cars and work out how much extra it will cost to run. I have found it very useful.

These above all appear 11+ Looks a great looking SUV though.

Interested how the 6 cylinder compares with the 8 for this purpose. Do you know what the tow rating is like?
meaks Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I would have liked a wrangler for a bit of off road fun but it costs nearly twice as much in fuel as my Holden combo van to run so maybe not yet.
bensdad Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Yep I tow my jetski with it , it's a 3 seater 3.2m long so like a small boat it's a bit juicy but to be honest it's such a nice car I don't worry about the fuel lol. You'll struggle to get any petrol gc under 11 per 100 why not go for an overland model with the diesel plenty of torque there.

Hence the benchmark perhaps is set a little high for SUV?
bensdad Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Mine is a penstar 3.6l V6 and being a 4 speed auto is a little juicy especially when you put your foot down. But having said that it is a lovely drive very much like the range rover sport but its all opinions at the end of the day.
