fizzybangs 11 Posted April 9, 2013 Having received some advice from forum members we have recently used Grace in Brisbane to return our household goods to Devon. The Manager went above and beyond with his assistance, even answering emails late evening - to the point where I had to tell HIM to take some time off as not urgent! It has only just left but I already have all the info for tracking our shipment, the quote itself was excellent and have the name of company in UK handling it that end and they too have written to me with contact name, email address and tel. numbers. We insured through Letton Percival, again because of advice through this forum. So the Aussie end has been absolutely faultless and I will post again to tell you result once we have received it and they have unpacked it. Hopefully nothing will be damaged as so many other people have experienced with their shipments with other removalists.
lilypop 10 Posted April 12, 2013 Thank you for sharing this info. I have just had a quote from somewhere for just under $3000 for clothes, toys, all kitchen stuff and personal bits. no furniture though apart from my washing machine. I'm thinking this is rather expensive........thoughts anybody please???
fizzybangs 11 Posted April 13, 2013 We are taking a small Ikea cupboard with drawers, queen size bed, 2 smallish tables, Timber TV corner unit and large TV, huge mirror, many large and small pictures, heaps of photo albums, garden chair, golf clubs, huge amount of incidental stuff plus huge amount of bedding/towels etc - 93 boxes/parcels of various sizes in all. All packing supplied and 3 people to do the packing for us. We even threw in stuff we weren't going to take and it was all still under 1/3 container once packed. Never had people pack for me before - quite an experience and so efficient! The company they are using in UK has every creditation there is too and they will unpack it all and take rubbish away for us. Very impressed. TBH I can't remember all the stuff we are taking now! It's a lot though

fizzybangs 11 Posted April 14, 2013 We paid around $2900 and I forgot - there was also a cupboard with drawer of my mothers. Honestly, a huge amount of stuff. The first quote was higher but I already had a good idea of what costs should be by talking to others so frowned and said it seemed a bit high. I didn't even bother getting any more quotes as planned as felt so completely satisfied with all the answers, the price we ended up with and what was offered. I have been even more impressed since. No query is too silly and nothing is too much trouble. I forgot about some pictures in the stairwell the day they packed - about 7 of them. We offered to drive them over to the office at Wacol a few days later, were given a receipt, no further costs involved and they wrapped them and had them delivered to to join the rest of our stuff. No worries - everything so easy. As I previously said, we used Letton Percival for insurance as much cheaper than major removalists and I know others who speak highly of them. I think they have a link on PIO somewhere.
