Any reviews on how it is and whether it has any amenities nearby. Plan to take Rent a car and drive to this resort type of guest house. twinsmom65 Posted March 24, 2013 Share Posted March 24, 2013 Hello, I used to live in The Vines. Ellenbrook is only a 3 min drive away, and they have a Woolies, Big W and other shops. Midland is about a 20 min drive, with a bigger mall. You are only about 10 mins from Caversham Wildlife Park, which I would recommend to visit. To get into the city I would take the train, I prefer Guildford to Midland to catch the train. Watch out for the Roos in The Vines, there are loads, and remember if you see one cross the street, there will be a second one behind it. If you need more info, please feel free to PM me. In fact, we had our small wedding there with family - and a bunch of friends as day guests for the Reception. Then we went and did A LOT of wine tastings at the wineries close by the next day. :wink: AWESOME day out! It is really set up great for families or friends as a house stay. We had a BBQ the first night out by the pool. The hosts are helpful and friendly, but not in your way, and the house itself is huge (I'd hate to be the one to mow their lawn!). We booked out the whole house, but I think they do individual rooms too. You would have to ask them to be sure.
