B Graded Medical - What does this mean ?

Hi,

we have just got the results for our familys medicals and my wife's has been classified as B.

She had post natal depression 15 years ago and had a small bout of depression 2 years ago. Neither was referred to a specialist and both times she recovered after a couple of months on a low dose of anti-depressant.

Will this be a problem for our migration or will it delay the visa grant.

Hardly seemed worth mentioning, but she was completely honest with the panel doctor.

Help and reassurance please !!!

Tony

Do they check your medical records with you GP or is just things that you tell the private doctor that get reported to the CO??

You need to be honest with the panel doctor that you see. Depending on medical condition, they may seek specialist reports (which will be at your cost).

They are not checking your medical records with GP. Not telling the truth with anything on your visa application could see it cancelled anytime in the future.

Also this report is not sent to CO, it is sent to the Medical Officer of the Commonwealth. These are the people that review your medicals then either finalise once cleared or refuse on medical grounds.

Most things are not an issue, but things that will be a significant cost to the Australian tax payer is when there are issues.

Thanks for info, the only reason I ask is that I had post natal depression after having my daughter 5 years, no medication was prescribed but I think the post natal depression is on my GP notes, would I have to state this or is just better not to.

Thanks for all the replies !!! Much appreciated !!!

My wife was completely honest and in this case a simple letter from the GP was enough to satisfy the panel doctor. Since there was no referral to a specialist he said that a letter stating what happened would be more than enough. Honesty is best i would say because your notes will follow you and any relapses could prove costly.

Its just the delays that are starting to annoy, one thing after another.

Will all be worth it in the end !!!
