The reason I think the uk is screwed is 90% of the people moving here come with jack **** and put there hand out for every benefit under the sun...

90% of the people moving to oz have sold a house or have savings and they get jobs and houses when they arrive which helps make a better economy not put a strain it...

You really aren't the sharpest tool in a carpenters toolbox are you of course £2 an hour isn't a fair wage, it's about giving a little back.

You really do have a chip on your shoulder about the unemployed are you receiving a giro sideshow bob is that why it's a subject dear to your heart?

Giving something back? If the goverment cannot create jobs why the hell should someone give something back? It is not their fault that this inept goverment is not investing in in anything, these people are desperate for jobs, hundreds of applicants for any job...as I say this I am all right jack attitude in the UK stinks.

stop and think about what you are saying.....what you are saying is the result of all the "sensational" rubbish that is written on here and in some of the press about the UK....its what you want to think because it helps justify your move overseas......your just plucking figures out of the air because it sounds good..... it really is nothing short of a joke.

We have about 2 million immigrants in this country, are your seriously saying that 90% of them, which by my calculations makes 1.8 million are claiming benefits, that would mean only 700 thousand of the others on benefits were UK residents. We have had between between 3 million and 2 million unemplyed and on benefits since 1990.....I dont recall hearing about all those immigrants back then.

I love Scotland and will never dog it to justify any move...

2 million is that the official numbers , there's a load more coming in under the radar....

HEATHER Frost is not the first jobless mum to get a plush home.

Palestinian refugee Manal Mahmoud and her seven kids were last year accused of trashing the £1.25million townhouse they had been moved into in Fulham, West London.

In 2010, Somali asylum seekers Abdi and Syruq Nur were given a £2.1million pad in nearby Kensington at a cost of £8,000 a month to the taxpayer, after saying their Kensal Rise home was in a “poor” area.

It also emerged single mum-of-six Essma Marjam got handouts of £7,000 a month to live in a £2million villa in Maida Vale, West London.

In October 2008 we revealed Afghan mum-of-seven Toorpakai Saindi claimed £12,458 a month for a £1.2million home in Acton, West London.

I'm speechless (probably best I am)

What in gods name! This is insane! And there are british nationals that are living in cramped conditions and can't get anywhere else to move on because the council doesn't deem their needs urgent! The england sun said that the lady might not take up her £400 000 house up because of the abuse she's been getting. Unsurprising the abuse though...what a scrounger!

Key Figures

Latest provisional data show that there was a net flow of 183,000 migrants to the UK in the year ending March 2012, which is significantly lower than the net flow of 242,000 in the year ending March 2011.

536,000 people immigrated to the UK in the year ending March 2012, which is significantly lower than the 578,000 who migrated the previous year. It is the lowest immigration estimate since the year to June 2004 when 528,000 people migrated to the UK.

Provisional data show that 353,000 emigrants left the UK in the year ending March 2012. This is higher than the 336,000 who emigrated in the year to March 2011. The increase in emigration is mostly due to more people leaving for a definite job. 127,000 left the UK for a definite job in the year ending March 2012, compared to 108,000 the previous year.

There were significant decreases in the net flow of non-EU and British citizens in the year ending March 2012 from the previous year. There were net flows of 185,000 non-EU citizens and -77,000 British citizens, which are lower than the estimates of 215,000 and -50,000 the previous year.

There was a significant decrease in the numbers of people arriving to study. 213,000 migrants arrived to study in the year to March 2012; lower than 232,000 the previous year. Decreases have also been seen in the number arriving for work-related reasons at 177,000 in the year to March 2012 compared to 194,000 the previous year.

Excluding visitor and transit visas, the total number of visas issued fell 14 per cent to 508,488 in the year ending September 2012 (compared with 593,978 in the previous 12 months), to the lowest 12-monthly total recorded using comparable data available from 2005.

In the year to September 2012, there were 210,921 visas issued for the purpose of study (excluding student visitors), a fall of 26 per cent compared with the previous 12 months. 145,604 work-related visas were issued in the year to September 2012, a fall of 4 per cent compared with the previous 12 months.

Final figures for 2011 show that annual net migration to the UK was 215,000. The decrease in inflow and the increase in outflow have resulted in lower net migration compared to 2010 when it was 252,000.

Hi , going on these figures up to March 2012 there was 536000 migrants to the uk, it was only my opinion when I said 90% with there hand out , which leaves 53,600 hard working folk..... I bet that's not far away.

At the end of the day it was only my opinion.....
