ENS 186 Visa Timelines Post July and E-Visa

Recommended Posts

Ok,

So I realise now I should have read the small print before commencing but is anyone else having similar issues with the new online portal. 186 ENS application made on 31/01/13 and paid on 31/01/13. Got a long list of of documents to supply as online attachments most of which have to be certified. A big thanks to the local police in Sandringham who diligently certified over 100 pages !!

So....started to load the documents online and arrrrgggggghhhh reached the limit of 60 files as adding them as individual files. Havent even managed to add the Decision Ready file.

Now, with any normal online service you would expect to be able to rectify mistakes by deleting files added and starting again.....but NO thats asking a bit too much.

Reading the help file it says once a case officer is assigned they will ask for additional information. Well they are missing over half of ours.

Question. What is the experience of anyone else on here in the time it is taking to get a Case Officer assigned in Melbourne post July. Reading the threads there are some horror stories.

It looks as though I shall now be in the call queue for a couple of hours tomorrow - I hope to get through on the phone. Wish me luck.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions gratefully received.

Paul

We applied end of August '12 and still awaiting CO. They are currently taking 6-8months to allocate a CO, and are processing applications recieved July/August'12. Sorry cant help with file upload bit, but seems like a mistake on there part or whoever designed the site. We are going through Parramatta.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Called today and informed that the CO will ascertain what information was missing. Interestingly when I said I hadn't managed to add the Decision Ready form the reply today was it only mattered if using an agent but that all applications are being processed in chronological order due to the influx since October. I wonder what happened in October???? Answers on a postcard. Anyhow it transpires its now running at about 9 months to get a CO for PR visas.

Only Registered Agents are authorized to access the Decision Ready System.

Now, with any normal online service you would expect to be able to rectify mistakes by deleting files added and starting again.....but NO thats asking a bit too much.

This feature has never been an option of any Immigration electronic lodgment system.

The electronic system for the 186 is still relatively new and still very slow.

Processing times will vary between different posts but currently even Decision Ready applications are taking about 6 month before being allocated to a case officer.

Paul and Ilda - I hope I can give you some hope, and an alternative to those horror stories.... we applied non DRC at the beginning of Sept 2012, and we're granted our visa on the 16th Jan 2013, so waited just 4 months and 10 days all in, from submission to grant.

Yep, just goes to show that it makes very little difference going down the DRC route, plus they don't processing in date order either no matter what they say. So it really is the luck of the draw!

My take on it is that they may pick out straight forward cases to get them out the way... those that have absolutely everything front loaded, fulfil all criteria really easily etc. The other thing that I think may make a difference I who the employer is... mine is one that they would not need to do many checks on. We also met the criteria for skills assessment exemption, so again, one less complicating factor.

Here we go again - after we submitted our ENS last June 2012 6 days to early & advised by CO to with draw, we are now ready to apply again.

Our problem now is the employer as applied for wrong Stream for visa - anyone know what can be done to rectify this?

Cheers

Hi Paul, we arrived in Sandringham in Nov 2010 on a 457 visa. My husband's employer lodged our 186 ENS application on 26/11/12. We rec'd the 'valid application' notification on 18/3/13 and yesterday 28/3/13 we received the approval. We lodged a decision ready application (through an agent) on 29/11/12 - we think we may only be days away now from received our PR. I do know the immigration have had major issues with their new website (1/7/12) which are now resolved, and CO are taking up to 8 months to be allocated. We were told in Feb by our agent that the DIAC were working on August applications, so end of March they have now got to November, so fingers crossed you're not too far away. We've put the bottle of Moet in the fridge just in case it comes early next week!! then it time to celebrate. Where are you from? We are from Leeds in Yorkshire!

Hi Jill,

Thanks for the reply. It sounds as though Melbourne is taking about 6 months to get a CO so hopefully we are not too far behind. My worry is that we only managed to put on about 1/2 of the documents we need before I ran out of space. My fault, I should have read the maximum number of files was 60 and stupidly added individual pages.

We were originally from the South Coast. Notice you are really close to us if you are still in Sandringham as we are in Hampton !

Regards,

Paul and Ilda

HI everyone

I've been studying this thread for some time now (okay, so probably a little too much when I start to panic) and getting lots of information from you guys. I just wanted to let those of you that are waiting, things are speeding up :) I got my PR approved today and couldn't be happier!

Here is my timeline:

Applied: 186 ENS Nomination and visa together 4th March 2013 DRC through migration agent.

Occupation-Graphic Designer

Acknowledgment email received the next day.

Didn't hear anything until this morning when nomination was approved and 30 minutes later PR was.

Parramatta office, 11 weeks in total

Thank you once more and good luck to all waiting.
