Lisa1234ken
Hi everyone hope someone can answer me a question, if my wife finds a job in australia and they offer to sponsor her is it as simple as that,or does her job need to be on some sort of employment list she is currently working as a pharmacy assistant
Rossmoyne
The employer has to be registered as a sponsoring employer with DIAC and prove that they have been unable to fill the position with an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident. The position needs to be on the Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List (CSOL) though. Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician are on the CSOL but I don't think Pharmacy Assistant is. Rupert
The employer is not required to prove that they have been unable to fill the position with a PR or resident but the fact is is that most of them will prefer to do that if they possibly can. Honestly, I can't imagine that she is going to have much luck with this. The position does have to be on the SOL or CSOL and as has been pointed out to you, here and on another thread I think, Pharmacy Assistant isn't on the list but Pharmact Technician is. Rossmoyne
OK things have changed since I was running a sponsored employer program for a government department last year, so please ignore my advice.
