Wrinkles

Do you use anything for wrinkles (yes men as well). I am at that age now where I suppose I need to start thinking about wrinkles appearing. I've never been one to put all these creams etc on my face and wonder if the wrinkle ones actually work.

I really love Liz Earle superskin moisturiser, in fact it was only the other day I wondered what I would use in oz as it has no SPF in it. Perhaps just use at night......anyway I can really recommend it but you would need to order it online.

I don't have dry skin and it is still not atoll greasy. If you lived in Perth I would take you a tub over with me to say thanks for all your good work on PIO. I don't post often but it really is a wealth of info.

Yep, eat lots of food so wrinkles do not get a look in

I wear Dove Essential Nutrients Protective Moisturising Lotion on face and neck every day, summer or winter. Also put it on the back of my hands.... dried out hands are a sure indicator of age.

No wrinkles yet but I'm only 36, so get back to me in 10 years!

I am terrible with anything like that. I can be on it for like a week, then I forget about it. Just trying to remember to put sun lotion on my nose is hard enough, and I work outdoors!

So I don't moisturise at all. I don't have wrinkles yet (or any grey hairs yay). I do well if I remember to wash my face! Lol.

Just get a good basic moisturiser. Paying a small fortune for a fancy face cream isn't really worth it.

I've used moisturiser for years. Morning and night (when I remember). I've also not been a sun worshipper like many of my friends (that weird British thing to sit in Spain for 2 weeks and cook like a lobster has never held any appeal). I think its stood me in good stead.

I can remember Rob having a friend in the UK whose wife was only 30 but she looked 60 I was so shocked when I first met her, I thought it was her mum.

I use Clinique but I really think it all comes down to genetics.

I have spent my entire life in the sun - I have never bothered with sunscreen or worried about getting burned etc so I should have lots of wrinkles (and if you believe everything you read - skin like old leather) but I don't.

I have a couple of really, really little wrinkles that my OH says are in my imagination and people routinely think I am a lot younger than I am - so I think you are either lucky or you aren't.

Nothing you put on your skin will prevent ageing, but things that do contribute to premature ageing/wrinkles include heredity/genes, smoking and sun exposure.

The evidence that fancy creams have any effect at all is lacking, and the proposed mechanisms and ingredients used don't follow our understanding of physiology and skin structure and function. Similarly, there is no real evidence that diet or supplements have a significant effect, and we don't actually all need to drink 2 litres of water a day.

If you keep well hydrated, your skin will look better ( not wrinkle-free though). Sunscreen, basic moisturizing cream. I don`t believe that a fancy cream can make wrinkles disappear, it would be either Botox or a plastic surgery:biggrin:

I reckon if you are at the stage of thinking about wrinkles then it is too late! If you abuse your skin when younger then you will probably get them but I agree with the others, genetics probably plays a large part along with poor skin treatment when younger. I, too, fall into the genetically "good" category apparently but as I have lost weight I am noticing I actually have smile lines! (almost dimples!).

I am a cosmetic Nurse and I personally don't believe that any creams wil make a huge amount if difference to wrinkles. Injectable treatments (botox and fillers) usually make a big improvement and if done by an experienced practitioner should look natural and should just give you a fresher look as opposed to looking 'frozen'!

Microneedling (dermaroller) can help by stimulating your cells to repair themselves and make your skin look smoother.

The best cream you can use is a high SPF every single day but this will only help to prevent not improve. Other alternatives are retinol, or something like the Obagi range which is a combination of creams which is designed to thicken your skin and make it look younger.

Hope this helps!
