Day 4 of waking up on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Had not visited before and I must say it lives up to my expectations so far. Hubby has landed 3 jobs already. We have hired a car and have been looking at areas to rent. So far all the properties we are interested in have already been leased:( Staying in Alexandra Headland in a holiday home at the moment. Went shopping to Coles and items are not as expensive as I had anticipated. People seem friendly, beaches are great, and its hot! although it has rained on and off. Applied for TFN on line which took 10 mins. Will sort Medicare in the next few day. Im a nurse and so far have not seen any jobs, however it is early days (fingers crossed). Stayed overnight in Brisbane the night of our arrival and spent the following day at South Bank which is lovely. Both my boys (aged 10 & 6) seem happy that we are here. Want to get them settled in asap.

Welcome and hope it all goes well for you.

There are nursing jobs arround so you'll find something.

What does your hubby do?

Make sure you join the Surf Club at Mooloolaba and get the kids signed up for Nippers next season.

If you fancy meeting we are in Buderim with kids 14,10,8 and 5.

Roger & Gen (been here 2 years)

Ps: Would recommend Amber Werchon as an estate agent based in Mooloolaba - she will help you find a property and she is very good.

Hi

Sounds like your loving the Sunshine Coast.

We are flying over in 5weeks and can't wait. What does your husband do for work? as finding work will be what sways our vote on the move. If he has been offered 3 jobs already then that's fantastic.

glad you mentioned that Coles wasn't too expensive as again the cost of living will also add to our decision. Is Coles the equivalent to our tescos/sainsburys?

we are staying in peregian beach but peregian springs looks a lovely place to live (maybe worthy look?)

glad your settling in well.

Hi

My husband is a fitness coach. He starts his new jobs next week.

Coles is the equivalent to our main supermarkets. sells their own brands at a cheaper cost. some items are a lo more expensive, hovever some are a lot cheaper. frozen items seems expensive.

We have looked up and down the coast for proprties. pelican waters is really nice, we have a few properties to view this week in peregian springs and kawana. had a drive up to peregian springs yesterday and the area is fab.

Good luck with your move x

That sounds really promising. I guess with that job you can adjust your hours to suit. And I can imagine there'd be a fair demand for fitness instruction/motivation. Well done.
