Hi Kindly lemme know the following:

best ANZCO job code suited for IP DATA network engineer?

Any Doc submitted during skills assessment other than mentioned in the website?

Did you get assessed through RPL route. What are ur qualifications becos with me I am having a NON-ICT qualification degree with ICT work exp of 7 years.

Do you have work experience? If yes, then did anyone ask you to submit anything (like all pay slips) other than all Company's work reference letters with all info as slated in the website.

Looking forward for ur reply.

Regards

Karan

Hi Karen,

You could go to http://www.abs.gov.au to check for the duties against each ANZCO code. If you find a code matching against your duties you can submit for assessment. However, you should also check if this code is in the SOL / CSOL in DIAC website . If its listed you are good to go with ACS assessment. My degree too is non-ICT one, but it had subjects on IT and closely related to IT. So, I got that assessed by submitting the syllabus detailing number of hours spent on IT subjects. Reference letters or Statutory declration are required for ACS to prove your experience. Payslips are/may be required for DIAC assessment.

Do you have any vendor certifications ?

Hi Voxtro,

I have already checked the website and landed up with couple of options which i felt bst suited my current exp and they are 263111 & 263113. If u have a similar profile like mine then lemme know which u one selected.

Yes I have done few Cisco (CCNA, BGP+MPLS) and Juniper (JNCIA, JNCIS) certifcations.

Here is a brief abt my profile and lemme know if u r into the same domain:

> Working as a senior network engineer with an ISP. Manage their core IP MPLS BB network and assure customers services like VPN and IP Transit 24*7. Good exposure to routing protocols like RIP EIGRP IS-IS OSPF BGP LDP RSVP HSRP etc and network topologies like ADLS ATM FR MPLS etc. Hands on CISCO and Juniper high end routers. and Many more.

There are few certifications listed in ACS guideline which can be treated as AQF diploma in computing. You could verify if yours is listed there to qualify as Diploma (if you are unable to prove your degree with major in computing). Note that you might loose points for Diploma qualification.. check that as well. I have got assessed under 263111..

Dear bugskaran30,

I have same experience as yours and falls under Network Administrator category and I think you should be under same category.today i have submitted my ACS application with Network Administrator Category without RPL as I was not sure about it.

What is your status now, have you submitted your ACS and have you got any reply against RPL.

Hello,

I have the below certs with over 11 years of experience:-

CCSA (Checkpoint NGX)

BCNE (Brocade)

CCNA/CCIP (Cisco)

MCSE 2k (Windows)

HNC in Computing

My ACS code is 263111....

ACS is a right pain in the backside, as even though I have over 11 years of experience they take the HNC qualification I got in May 2004, plus 3 years of work from then and said from May 2007 I meet the criteria. They basically scratch all my experience prior to 2007 which then means I only have 6 years experience and not the 8 needed for my extra points on a 189 visa (could always do state for the 190, but there is only 3 sponsoring at the moment, so awaiting to see what Western Australia say in the next couple of months).

Its a very long path and now the cost has gone up for your Visa (mine is approx 4.5k as I have two kids and a wife), its not just about still wanting the best and brightest, its also about wanting the richest...Yes I probably sound a bit bitter at the moment, but ACS for one really can do what they want (no guidelines).

Employment in our field is also not great at the moment (there is some previous posts on the forum so check it out), so even though it all looks amazing on seek, these are not all active jobs. I have friends out in Aus who work in our field whom contract out and are working on a school campus for good money, but even my friends who want me out there (wanted us to go on a 457, but its to risky) said that things are quiet at the moment. This also has something to do with the prices going up on all Visa's and some major companies whom bring internal staff via the 457 are now thinking out of Aus (this is not just here say)

Anyway, hope some of my info supplied has been helpful.
