Melbourne (greenvale/brunswick) commuting times

Hi All

would appreciate advice on commuting times in Melbourne during peak times.

My wife and I are planning to move to Melbourne in October. I have a job in

Greenvale, possibly. We were thinking of living in Brunswick.

On google maps the estimated travel time by car is 30mins between these two places.

I am just wondering if anybody would have an idea if this time is accurate for rush hour?

Many thanks

Paddy

Depends on the traffic, going against in morning and night. However you would probably use Bell Street to access the Tullamarine and Bell Street is a bit slow in peak. The other route would be taking the Tulla from where it starts but the problem there is getting from Brunswick to it. Not a huge distance but its absolute stop start in peak, very very busy. To be avoided if possible.

My daughter lives in Brunswick and she works in the city which is an ok commute.

Traffic all around the area is pretty much stop start.

Just get a car and try it out is the only true way of finding out what the commute is like. Assuming you will be driving. If taking public transport you would need to have a look at the transport site.

Good luck

No easy way to get there with public transport and during people it would be a virtual car park, How about perhaps looking at moving to one of the following areas instead Pasco Vale, Jacana. Those areas are not as trendy of happening as Brunswick but the commute is slightly easier.
