Seeking your advice

Dear Members,

I have just joined this forum & seeking your advice on following.

  1. I am interested in applying for the "Skilled - Nominated or Sponsored (Provisional) (subclass 489). My brother will be my sponsor. However, I do not have any occupation listed in the SOL (schedule 1) that I can nominate. If its CSOL then I am fine. I was wondering if CSOL is relevant for my visa subclass. According to the DIAC website CSOL is relevant for the state/territory sponsored applications. Can i apply for CSOL?
  2. Do we need to pay EOI fee (3060AUD) at the time of EOI submission or after getting EOI?
  3. Its the marks (above 60) which is essential for getting EOI i mean higher the marks higher the chance to get EOI?
  4. I belong to a high risk country according to DIAC. will this minimize the chance?
  5. what is average processing time for offshore apllicants of high risk countries?

I will appreciated your contribution.

Thanks

Welcome to PIO

If you dont have an occupation on SOL 1 your brother can not sponsor you.

What is your occupation??

You will require a positive skills assessment and IELTS before you can apply for State Nomination (if there is a state that sponsors your occupation) and EOI.

You only have to pay the Visa Application fee once you are invited and have applied.

Because you do not have an occupation on SOL 1, and will require state nomination, you will require the 60 points to be able to apply.

Belonging to a HR country, processing times are longer, some HR countries can take up to 12 months to go through internal and external checks.

If you getting a state sponsor then your brother cannot sponsor you. In addition, depends on where your brother is staying, only then he is eligible to sponsor you.

3060AUD is DIAC fees. you will only need to pay that amount when you receive an invitation to apply and apply.

higher the marks, the faster you will select in the EOI.

Processing time is diff from everyone. Sometime depends on how fast you do your assessment and how fast you will be select in EOI.
