barnsey10
One for the forum here !! I was invited to apply for a 189 Visa on the 3rd December and i posted my application to my migration agents (ASA Consultants) mid Dec. Because of the Christmas postage shambles (confirmed delivered 3rd Jan) they havent been able to begin the process of checking the paperwork. Now that time is tight the say that they will need to 'Priority Process' the documentation and it will cost $500. Tony, Sandra and Luke. Originally from West Cumbria, currently living in Central Scotland. Questions are: 1. If i make the payment and my application is lodged before the EOI lapse date (3 Feb) what are the chances of getting the Visa by mid October? 2. Can i still apply for WA State Sponsorship or do i have to wait until the EOI has lapsed (or could i use the existing EOI number on the SS application and resubmit the EOI with 190 ticked once lapsed?) and the WA SS only costs $200. Any other suggestions - job may depend on getting there by last week in October. lebourvellec
Personally I wouldnt be paying them a penny to "Priority Process" application, what a lot of rubbish, they have more than enough time to lodge the application. Documentation has 28 days after application is lodged to attach documents. They have a month to lodge the application which is basically filling in a form, attaching the documentation is your passports, skills assessments, IELTS, all which has already been completed by your skills assessment. I would be telling them if my application is not lodged by 3rd Feb, I will be putting in a complaint to MARA. https://www.mara.gov.au/ There is no reason why your application can not be lodged in time, they are trying to pull a fast one. Have you got full breakdown cost for the agent when you signed up with them?? I would forget about SS now and continue with your current application. Agents like these give good agents a bad name. Yes you should have your visas by October if no delays in medicals, once application is lodged try to do your medicals quickly as referred medicals are taking time to process. Shawfair Park in Edinburgh is nearest place for you, Adult medical is about £300 Child £100, you can get appointments very quickly. We did ours here they were very good. My application is a paper application - not online :-( The actual costs (which i paid upfront) were around $2500 with Skills and Visa applications on top. I honestly think that i have paid enough for the service, after all i fill out all the paperwork - they are checkig it at the other end. Tony No applications can be done on paper now, it is all online (since 1 July) So they are giving you wrong information. I dont know what they are checking, as you must be eligible. EOI is lodged online once you are invited, there is an apply button which will take you through to the online application. Yes you have paid the going rate for their service. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1276.pdf Was this they form the made you fill out. Is this the form they made you fill out. Yes, I have completed the Form 1276, 80 for each adult, 956 - all with them now. Does this mean they will be tapping it into a computer ? I could have done that in December. I also had to go through the expense of getting all the copies certified - they insisted on a copy for their records (not certified) and one for the Aus Govt. They have had the electronic versions of this paperwork since early Dec !!! Thanks
lebourvellec
Yes - you they will be tapping it all in, but they will upload Form 80 (which your CO may not have asked for, ours didnt) Also DIAC accept colour scans of original documents, therefore you wouldn't have needed to get all those documents certified. Documents are uploaded after application is lodged. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/further-information.htm

Tony If you are looking for your application to be processed quickly you can do these once your application is lodged. Once you get the TRN number from the agent you can book your medicals. And do Police Checks with ACRO, if it is only the UK one you will require. You have 12 months from the earliest date of medicals or PCC to make first entry to Australia, so you need to consider this when you book your medicals etc.
