Rupert
If you are the main applicant then no you cannot. You can only work for your sponsor.
lebourvellec
No, that will be a breach of your visa conditions - you can only work for your sponsor.
Tickled Pink
If you are the main applicant then it is as the others have said. If you are the dependant, then you can work however you like. Could I be cheeky and ask, and please don't feel obligated to respond because I know this is a personal question..... but are you needing to work because of low wages on a 457? I only ask as there are two threads currently running on here where two seperate people are asking if wages in the low 50k bracket would be enough to live on. Both are 457 visa potentials. If you are someone on that position currently, and are looking at a second job because you have found it hard on your current primary wage, then it could be really helpful to hear your story. But I know that may be too personal for you, and more info than you wish to give, or this may not even be your situation at all.... but just thought I'd ask as your situation may be valuable info for others trying to make a decision. But I am on commission so I can work on that. Thanks tickled pink
