AlloVera
Hi summers1261, Do you mean where can you study CPA in the UK or ACCA? If they've asked for 3 more core modules specifically from the CPA syllabus maybe you can ask them which ACCA modules are comparable? Sorry if I have read this all wrong! They always tell acountants to study three more modules, even if they ahve been UK fully qualified for 20 years, they would still get a positive skills assessment though. I would suspect that part qualified ACCA is not going to be sufficient to pass skills assessment, you need to have finished your exams.
summers1261
Hi all Thank you for your replies. Have given me ideas of how to progress even tho I wasn't very clear in my post. I was wanting to know how do I go about studying CPA modules in the uk?(if I decided to take this route) I was wanting to get my skills assessed in order to submit my EOI and apparently I am 3 three short of the 9 modules required. However my degree was assessed positively. But anyway I've submitted my EOI yesterday , and maybe I'll take the 3 modules if and when I get to Oz? My thoughts are so random and confusing ,apologies to be so random.

I am also ACCA part qualified and i am currently working on my bsc and would love to know if the bsc is sufficient to get a positive assessment. Thanks ! summers1261
Hi Calyx You have to study the 3 core modules in the UK and then re-apply for a re-assessment. I am sitting my 3 modules in June 2013. If you decide to enrol in the CPA foundation you get the study material in 2-3 days. Good luck

grahamffc
I am part qualified ACCA but got a positive skills assessment die to my accounting degree. I studied at university full time for this but if you are doing the Oxford Brookes thing I shoukd expect this to count as just the same. It might be worth considering that ACCA is not very well known in Australia and if you have s choice now it is probably worth pursuing CPA or CIMA as they have a mutual membership agreement. DianaK
Calyx, It does not matter what degree you have, if they do not recognize as completed 9 out of 12 mandatory courses that are in the requirements. If you have those 9, then you can worry about the degree. I am not sure wether Summer1261 means 3 modules or 3 courses? I am a CPA/CGA in Canada and I applied for CPA membership after I got the positive assessment. They told me that I have to pass one course to become a full member. I did that and now I am a member. Based on mutual agreements with CPA bodies around the world, future members may be directly admitted or asked to complete 1, 2 or 3 courses. James and Julia
There is a CPA Australia office in London at Australia House I believe. I would give them a call first to ask the questions you have. http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/about-us/contact-us/europe
