Hi all!

We are a young family looking to move to the Gold Coast. We would like you to advise us on a family friendly suburb, near the beach and other local amenities. Also we would like the area to have good schools, affordable housing prices and a good family feel.

thanks!

Caitlin

ps. If you think somewhere else in NSW/QLD is better for families please advise! After all, we've just picked the Gold Coast from reading about it.

There are too many nice places to list, lol,, some i can think of would include-

Runaway Bay

Currumbin

Mudgeeraba

Robina / Merrimac / Varsity Lakes

Alot of migrants seem to head to the northern end around Pacific Pines, Oxenford etc .

Hope this helps a bit

I should think there are loads of places "good for families" across Australia, far too numerous to mention I would think.

The key question should be can you find work there or are you independently wealthy and will not need to work.

We live on the Gold Coast and have been here for almost 7 years. We actually live in Helensvale which has a nice family vibe and plenty of parks. Its about 10mins to the nearest beach which is suited for under children at the The Grand in Labrador.

Most areas in Oz are geared for family's it will depend on your occupations. We actually work in Brisbane which is an hour commute via train or road.
