karenpur
Hi, Last year i did my IELTS and got my skills assessed from ACS (21/03/2012). So when it came to submit form before july i panicked cause i knew i would not be able to get the money together in time if the visa was processed quicker than expected. So now i find myself still looking at the site wondering if i should submit an EOI and just pay for the visa and see what money i can get together to get out of this place. Problem is, just realised the ACS is only valid for a year. So wat do you think my chances wouls be applying for independent 189, getting an app and uploading the skills assesment by the expiration date of 21/03/2012. Should i do another skills assessemnt ? Thanks K

The SkillSelect Support page will provide detailed information including SkillSelect user guides, technical FAQs and video tutorials to help you use SkillSelect. You will be able to submit an online enquiry requesting resolution of a technical issue with your SkillSelect account or EOI. Your enquiry will then be escalated to the correct area for resolution. The department’s client contact centres will be unable to help with technical enquiries about SkillSelect. [h=3]What is the pass mark for the points tested visas?[/h] A points test pass mark exists for the points tested skilled migration visas and the business innovation and investment visa. The points tested skilled migration visas - subclasses 189, 190 and 489 have a points test pass mark of 60 points. You should note that visa subclasses 885, 886 and 487 will remain open for new applicants until 1 January 2013. The points test pass mark for these visas will remain at 65 points. The business innovation and investment visa - subclass 188, has an innovation points test pass mark of 65 points. More information on the points test can be found on the visa subclass pages. Subclass 189 Skilled – Independent Subclass 190 Skilled – Sponsored Subclass 489 – Regional Nominated (Provisional) Subclass 188 Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) [h=3]Who will have access to my details in SkillSelect?[/h]This will depend on your visa preference(s). As part of the EOI process, you will be asked to select the skilled visa(s) you are interested in submitting an EOI for. You can express interest in one or more visa(s). If you choose to be considered for a state or territory or employer sponsored visa, you are agreeing to allow state or territory governments and/or employers to access your details in SkillSelect. Employers are not able to view any identifying information such as your name, date of birth, gender, or nationality. Employers can only access information that will help them to consider you for employment; this could include your occupation, your work experience, and your level of English ability. If you express interest for only the independent or family sponsored visas, the information recorded in your EOI will only be available to the department. [h=3] Can I submit an EOI if I have not completed an English language test, skills assessment or Job Ready program? [/h]No, not if you need these in order to submit an EOI. If you are submitting an EOI for a points based visa, you must have completed an English language test, skills assessment or job ready program (if applicable) before you submit a complete EOI. You do not need to attach documents to your EOI. However, you must enter accurate information in your EOI that matches the information on the supporting documents. [h=3]How can I find out where I am ranked if I'm interested in a points based visa?[/h]You will not be able to view your ranking. When you submit your completed EOI, you will be shown your points score. You will not be able to view your ranking position because this will change as other EOIs are submitted and/or withdrawn from SkillSelect. After each invitation round for the skilled independent and skilled regional (provisional) visas, the department will publish on this website the lowest scoring points test mark that allowed an EOI to be invited for each relevant subclass. This will give you an indication of your potential for receiving an invitation in future rounds. [h=3]Can I submit an EOI in Australia?[/h]Yes, as long as you meet the following requirements. If submitting an EOI in Australia, you should understand that: the EOI is not a visa application, and you would not be granted a bridging visa if you are invited to lodge a visa application, you must meet the requirements to be granted that visa. [h=3]Will I need to provide a written statement in my EOI?[/h]No. You do not need to provide a written statement when you submit your EOI. The EOI will ask questions based on the visa(s) you are interested in. The answers you provide will contain enough information for your EOI to be submitted. [h=3]If I am not invited can I be reimbursed for the skills assessment and English language test?[/h]No. There is no guarantee that submitting an EOI will result in an invitation to apply for a visa. You are responsible for any costs in preparing an EOI. [h=3]What if my circumstances change after submitting my EOI?[/h]You must update your EOI. If your circumstances change, you are required to update your EOI in SkillSelect. You should update your details to reflect any additional qualifications or experience you have obtained. SkillSelect will automatically take the changes into account and, if appropriate, will update your ranking. This may increase your chances to be invited. [h=3]If I am not invited to lodge a visa application, will I be entitled to review rights?[/h]No. An EOI is not a visa application. You cannot access merits review by the Migration Review Tribunal. The review process is for eligible people whose visa application has been refused or cancelled. For more information regarding merits review, please visit the Migration Review Tribunal website. If you want to express concerns to the department regarding the selection process, you can access the department’s feedback form. [h=3]Is there a form I can post in?[/h]No. All EOIs must be submitted online using SkillSelect. If you are invited to apply for a visa, the information you submit in your EOI will be used as part of your application. You are required to confirm your claims and submit evidence at the time you apply. The information you supply in your EOI must be correct. If the information you supply in your EOI is not correct there could be adverse consequences for your visa application. jaws77uk
My ACS assessment came through in November 2011 and it stated that it is valid for 24 months from the date of the letter, I just assumed that all assessments were valid for that long. Does it definitely state only 12 months on your letter?
karenpur
Hi, I had read on a forum that is was only valid for 12 months according to DIAC , but the letter states 24 months so must have read incorrect info .
