astro
Hello all Apologies, long time listener, first time caller! My partner and I (she is Brit, I am Australian) are planning to move back to the UK in 2014. Only recently found out about the new strict guidelines for a UK cit to return with a non European partner. What a minefield! However, we will be fortunate enough to have the required £62500 savings to return with no job offers and can stay with family on our arrival back. Our questions are as follows: 1. If we are granted ILE based on our savings, when we have to reapply after 2.5 years can we qualify under a different financial category. Eg. Partner earns over £18600 and has £16000 in bank? We want to buy property on our return, so are not planning to live off our savings forgive years! 2. On applying for the extension, the £18600 earning requirement, can this be a combined income? I know to apply to enter it can only be applied as earning from the sponsor, but as my partner wishes to study when we return, I suspect I will be the one earning the main wages 3. Partner is eligible for Australian citizenship this year, and we are keen for her to get it. Would having dual citizenship at all, or especially granted so close to us applying for us to return to the UK hinder our application in anyway? Or should her eligibility to gain citizenship in Australia be irrelevant for her to return to UK with partner? Any help or advice would be much appreciated! thanks! Wont effect the UK process at all and keeps doors open for you or future generations to go back. Great you can meet the requirement with savings, seems rather hard for people to meet it now. But once you are in the UK and on a visa with permission to work your income can count combined or on its own.
